Faculty is encouraged to undertake sponsored projects from external funding agencies.
Faculty is provided with necessary support from the institution in terms of Infrastructure,Computational Facilities for implementing research projects.
Faculty undertaken Research Projects have been given reduction in academic work load.
Seed Money is provided to the young teachers/researchers to work out research and development activities in their respective specialization.
Financial support is given to the faculty and students for publishing and patenting their work.
All the faculty members are supported with travel grant, such as DA, and Registration fee tov enable them to attend conferences.
The students undertaking research and development work are given due recognition and other incentives

International Conference on “Emerging Research in Civil, Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering (ERCAM)” is conducted by NMIT to promote multidisciplinary research in the field of Civil, Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering. Proceedings of the ERCAM one published by Springer and indexed by SCOPUS
International Conference on “Emerging Research in Computing, Information, Communication and Applications (ERCICA)” is conducted by NMIT to bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology, and Mobile Communication to a common forum. All accepted and presented manuscripts in ERCICA are published by Springer and Indexed by SCOPUS
All Engineering departments of NMIT conduct Symposium every month which serves as a platform for knowledge dissimilation, interdisciplinary research and collaboration. Faculty and students are encouraged to participate in these symposia.
ANUSANDHANA - Journal of Science, Engineering and Management published by NMIT biannually. The Journal provides opportunities to faculty and researchers of Institutions of higher education across the country to publish their research findings, leading to interaction particularly in interdisciplinary areas
