NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)

About NSS

The NSS, operating under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, serves as a platform for students in the 11th and 12th grades, as well as those in technical institutions, graduate, and postgraduate levels, to actively engage in various community service activities and programs initiated by the government. By fostering a spirit of volunteerism and social responsibility, NSS aims to instil in young minds a sense of civic duty and the importance of contributing to the welfare of society.

Participants in NSS not only gain hands-on experience in community service but also develop essential life skills such as leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving. The scheme acts as a catalyst for personal and social development, promoting a sense of empathy and a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by different sections of society. Through its diverse range of projects, NSS strives to create a generation of socially conscious individuals who are committed to making a positive impact on their communities and the nation.
