The Department of Management Studies at NMIT gives significant attention to research and innovation and is known for consulting and teaching quality. The department is an approved Research Centre for University of Mysore and Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum for PhD scholars. At present 10+ students are pursuing their doctoral studies in our department.
The boom in start-up firms is redefining the rules in the B-School classrooms. In this context, the management has an incubation center for entrepreneurs. This center is approved by the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Industries, Government of India. We also have a Centre of Excellence for Big Data and Analytics.
The department has submitted a project sponsored by ICSSR (Indian Council for Social Sciences Research), New Delhi. Many consultancy projects are being executed by faculty in the department. Most of the faculty are certified Six Sigma Black Belts (Government of India, Ministry of MSME) and certified IRCA Approved ISO 9001 Auditors. , consultancy projects in these areas are in progress
