Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) has a Kannada Association by name ‘CHIGURU’. This association is active in terms of serving the cause of Kannada language, culture and ethos. The association helps create awareness about and connect with the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka in the minds of students coming from different parts of India. Annual Kannada Rajyothsava day celebrations during the month November is the high point of this association during which time the NMIT and other sister institutions come together and celebrate the occasion in a befitting way. Kannada Association has a trimonthly publication in Kannada. Teachers and students flex their writing skills through this medium.
