‘Artificial Intelligence can automate repetitive tasks and the creators of this magnificient tool are our technocrats. It is true it can help people make faster, more accurate predictions and data driven decisions. But unless this AI is complemented with Ancient Intuition, the world may not be benefitted much. Ancient Indians were deeply invested in gaining perspectives about the perishable and permanent, and made contributions and important decisions in the Sciences, Mathematics and Applied Medicine. So, time is ripe now for Indian technocrats to gain both knowledge systems –Artificial Intelligence and Ancient Intuition to conquer the topmost position in the field of technology’, opined Dr. Venkappayya R. Desai, Director, IIT Dharwad, while delivering Graduation Day address during the 14th Graduation Day Ceremony at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. Further he added that ‘our ancient technocrats were experts in substractive manufacturing efficiently, with all accuracy in producing complex designs. Our great temples are the living examples. Even though the foundation is just 4 feet, Brihadeshwara temple is intact amidst several earthquakes and tsunamis.’
Prof. Gopal Mugeraya, Vice President, Technical Education, Nitte Education Trust presided over the Graduation ceremony. In his presidential address, he said, ‘One should become lifelong learners in enhancing their skills to survive in the competitive world. Your skills and knowledge will only make the institutions/industries great.’
