To promote matters of mutual academic interest, NMIT has signed a MoU with North Dakota State University (NDSU) which is a renowned Land Grant Research University. NDSU is located in Fargo in the State of North Dakota, USA. Under the banner of this MoU there are internship opportunities for NMIT students. Ms.Amruthavarshini, Dept. of ISE, Ms.Bhagyashree Ramesha and Ms.Chaitra Patil from Dept. of Civil Engg have been selected to do their Internship cum project work at NDSU. The internship will be for a six month period starting from January 2017. The above students will have a unique global exposure in learning and execution of advanced technologies.

A five days workshop on Aerospace engineering was conducted by the Aeronautical branch.In his introductory & welcome address Dr. S. Venkateshwaran Prof & HOD AERO stressed on the importance and rapid stride that is being made in the field of aeronautical engineering.
The thought provoking workshop was to provide a platform for imparting specific knowledge and hands on experience in the areas of propulsion, aerodynamics, structures, aircraft materials, computational fluid dynamics techniques.

Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) has been the lead for Project STUDSAT-1 which has established a Small Satellite Research Center for the design and development of satellites by students. STUDSAT -1 was the first Pico satellite designed and developed by a team of students from seven different colleges across South India. This effort was under the able guidance of ISRO. The Pico satellite was launched by PSLV C-15, ISRO on 12 July 2010. The satellite is tracked by Nitte Amateur Satellite Tracking Center (NASTRAC) at the NMIT campus Bangalore.
The enthusiasm and team spirit of STUDAT-1 paved way for another project “STUDSAT-2” also led by NMIT.
Team STUDSAT-2 is hosting the third Student Satellite Training Program (SSTP-3) from 5 to 8 July, 2016. The objective of the Training Program is to strengthen the technical capability leading to a successful STUDSAT-2 mission. Expert Technical Talks will be given by ISRO Scientists. There will sessions by leading Indian Space Industry Experts. Participants will get an in depth understanding of small satellite development.
Prof U.R. Rao will be present at the inaugural function where he will engage with students and provide insightful thoughts on the design and development of satellites.

Training program on "Essentials of CATIA-V6"
At NMIT we continue to better the learning experience of our students. We have collaborated with a US based firm, Kore Fabrik. Our faculty team diligently worked with Kore Fabrik in setting up a team of eight interns from technical and managerial backgrounds who will be paid to execute projects for KoreFabrik in India. A boot-camp of ten days is organized from 8 June 2016 for all the eight interns. These students are expected to put in 20 hours of work a week after college hours and will be paid in return for their work. Kore Fabrik has also hired two management students who will be involved in the marketing of their products and services in India.
Conceived as a social media platform for academic institutions, Kore Fabrik has collaborated with NMIT/NSM in a pioneering attempt to have students as paid interns to further their technical and managerial effort required for the Indian market development and expansion. Faculty members from NMIT and NSM act as mentors to these interns and share their knowledge and guide the interns locally based on the requirements of Kore Fabrik.
