Reimagine Waste-2 Hackathon: Team titled ‘Paradigm Shifters’ comprising of Narendra Chaulagain, K Arun Kumar, Hom Bahadur Tamang and Srihari D V of V Sem E&EE under the mentorship of Mrs. Vasudha Hegde (Assoc. Professor, E&EE Dept.) participated in four days hackathon held at IISc from 11/08/2017 to 14/08/2017. Under the theme ‘smart streets for smart city’, a solution on segregation of plastic waste from other waste using electrostatic method (using high voltage pulses) was proposed. This team was one amongst the finalists with the idea much appreciated by jury members and they were invited to build the business model of the same.

Smart India Hackathon 2017-Worlds biggest hackathon: Four ideas were submitted by the department and one team comprising of Narendra Chaulagain, K Arun Kumar, Akshatha KR, Rajan Jaysawal, Hom Bahaddur Tamang and Gagnan P E of IV Sem E&EE and VIII Sem E&EE under the mentorship of Mrs. Vasudha Hegde with the idea titled ‘Carbon activated filter for controlling industrial air pollution’ under the Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change has participated in grand finale at Coimbatore.

Bhavana K H (8th semester) and Abiahu Promise (6th semester) Participated in Formula Hybrid 2015, held at Motor Speedway, New Hampshire, USA, in April 2015. Our college car was ranked 10 from the 37 participating teams.

Easaw George (8th semester ) Participated in Formula Hybrid 2014, held at Motor Speedway, New Hampshire, USA, in May 2014. Our college car was ranked 9 from the 29 partipating teams. It was also awarded the most popular car.

Ujjwala Godavarthi was one of the finalists at Schneider Electric’s International Case Challenge held in June 2013 at Paris. Title – "Energy harvesting using Peizo-electric".
