Unisys Cloud 20/20

Unisys Cloud 20/20 contest provides engineering students across the country with a platform to offer innovative ideas on disruptive technology. It is open to research students, post-graduates as well as pre-final and final year engineering students in Computer Science, Information Technology, and other related fields.

A team of our final year students submitted a project titled 'A crowd sourcing based android application for Structural Health Monitoring and Data Analytics using Cloud Computing'. We are proud to say that this team on 2nd Runners Up position. The team comprised Akriti Tyagi(4th year), Vinaydeep Kaur(4th year), M Kritika(4th year) and Pratima Kumari(4th year) and was guided by Mr. Sanket Salvi. The team members were awarded with 1 lakh rupees cash prize.


HACKATHON

Smart India Hackathon 2017 is a national level 36 hour non-stop programming competition. A total of 7500+ student teams from all over the country competed. 'THE ARTISANS' team from Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology was selected for the finals for their novel idea on 'Secure transfer of data using Stegnongraphy'. The Artisans bagged the second runners up prize. The team was awarded an ISRO hand crafted trophy and a cash prize of Rs 50,000/- which was presented by the chairman of ISRO. The team members were Niharika Mr, Shai Sundar, T Keerthana , Anurag , Amith KK and Sarang Parikh (the lead).


TRYST, IIT Delhi

TRYST, IIT Delhi is North India's largest science, technological and management festival conducted by the student community of IIT Delhi.

Shrey J Mistry and Prajwal A, students of VI semester Aeronautical Engineering, have won the Second prize at TRYST, IIT Delhi- GLIDER COMPETITION a National Level Workshop held at IIT – Dehli in FEB 2017.


International Recognition

Ms.Amruthavarshini, Dept. of ISE, Ms.Bhagyashree Ramesha and Ms.Chaitra Patil from Dept. of Civil Engg have been selected to do their Internship cum project work at the reputed North Dakota State University (USA). The internship will be for a six month period starting from January 2017. We are pleased to say that the above students will have a unique global exposure in learning and execution of advanced technologies.


KPIT Sparkle Contest 2017

KPIT is a leading Indian MNC with a commitment to foster sustainable and socially relevant technologies. To encourage young minds towards innovation and creativity, KPIT launched an annual contest, SPARKLE, for Science and Engineering students across India. The theme for the contest for the year 2017 was "Smart Cities"!!

We are proud to say that NMIT was 4th among the list of top 10 participating institutions across India!! The fact that 2 of NMIT student's proposals, were among the list of 35 shortlisted for the Grand Finals of SPARKLE 2017 stands testimony of the quality of innovation and sustained focus on ideation at NMIT. Projects by NMIT students on "Nano Fuel" for reduced emission and enhanced efficiency and smart approach for 'Waste Management' are selected for the Grand Finals at SPARKLE 2017. A notable aspect of each proposal that made to the Grand Finals was the interdisciplinary nature of the approach by students from ECE, ME and EEE involved in the ideation and implementation.


IT Quiz organized by TCS and BITES

Sameer Desai and Rajnarayan Datta (4th Semester CSE students) won the 1st prize in both the Regional and the State level Technical IT Quiz organized by TCS and BITES. This is a prestigious win given that 100+ teams from Karnataka competed in the quiz. Sameer and Rajnarayan were each presented a cash award of Rs 75,000 and an iPad.


Formula Car Competition North Hampshire, USA

The NMIT team participated in the formula car (FHSAE) competition at North Hampshire, USA. Thirty eight teams from across the world participated. Our team was awarded a very creditable 10th place prize in the face of global competition.
