Industry visit to Indian Air Force airfield

A visit is organized for students of 3rd semester on 29th September, 2018 on the occasion of Parakram Parv to Indian Air Force airfield in Yelahanka, Bengaluru

Industry visit to Mahindra Aerospace

Students of 8th semester witnessed various manufacturing processes and heat treatment process involved in production of aircraft structural components at Mahindra aerospace on 27 th January, 2018.


Students of 6th semester witnessed various divisions and facilities such as propulsion, C-CAAD, structural, acoustics etc. at National Aerospace laboratory on 16 th January 2018.

Dynamic measurement and Analysis

The Aeronautical Engineering Department conducted a Technical demonstration, in collaboration with CMTI-Bangalore, on “Dynamic Measurement and Analysis” on 24-11-16

​The Department ​ demonstrat​es​ “Dynamic measurement and Analysis”​ in association with ADVANCED MACHINE TOOL TESTING FACILITY which is a joint project of the Indian Machine Tool Industry, the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Government of India and CMTI.​ The demonstration pertains to the evaluat​ion of ​​ the ​d​ynamic performance of Structures.

The Department of Aeronautical engineering organized a seminar (in Oct 2016) on SPACE TECHNOLOGY IN ADVANCE STAGE. The talk was given by Dr P.J.Bhat-Group Director, Sr. Scientist –ISAC/ISRO. The speaker addressed the Aeronautical Engineering students on SPACE ORBITS AND TRAJECTORY. It gave a brief insight into current trends in Aerospace Technologies.

Maruthsakha Aerospace and Aviation Services Private Limited

The department has had discussions with Maruthsakha Aerospace and Aviation Services Private Limited. The discussions pertain to Internships to Final Year Students of Aeronautical Engineering Department and an Incubation Centre at our Department for encouraging young students.

It was also decided to have a MOU with them after thorough discussions with Representatives of the company and Principal, Director and Dean of the College.

National Aerospace Laboratories: The students visited the National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Bengaluru, in March 2015. This is the first visit by NMIT students to NAL. The students attended technical presentations on the work and R&D activities under taken at NAL. The students had exposure to the Wind Tunnel facilities of the Aerodynamics Division and the laboratories of the Propulsion Division. The visit enabled the students to select problems for their final semester projects.


Students of semester 6 visited Aero India 2015 at Yelahanka Air Force Station in February 2015.

ASTE Visit: Students witnessed the static display of Fighter, Bomber, Trainer, Transport aircraft and helicopters at the Aircraft & Systems Testing Establishment, IAF, in October 2013.




HAL Museum: Students visited the HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited) Museum in April 2013. They learnt the basics of aeronautics and related advances in the aircraft industry.




Air Force Technical College: The students visited the Air Force Technical College, Jalahalli, to learn about the training imparted to engineers and pilots of IAF (Indian Air Force) This training keeps the IAF personnel abreast of the latest development in aeronautics.




Aero India 2013 and 2015: Students visited the Aero India 2013 and once again in 2015. Aero India was at the Yelahanka Air Force Station. Students witnessed demonstrations by pilots.
