NATIONAL CADETS CORPS (NCC)

The NCC is a responsive, learning and continuously evolving organization. Its activity is guided by certain Core Values that we endeavour to instil among the cadets. These include the following:

AIM OF NCC

The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. The NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.

NCC @ NMIT

NMIT (Nitte Meenakshi Insititute of Technology) launched the NCC army technical company in the year 2004. The goals for launching NCC were to inculcate the national spirit and discipline among students. NCC of NMIT is attached to 1 Karnataka Signal Regiment NCC, Bangalore-A Group, Karnataka and Goa Directorate.

To promote fitness and discipline among college students, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed Universities across the country to offer NCC as an Elective subject. NMIT is one of the first Institutions in the country to offer NCC as an elective subject starting in the academic year 2013-14.

NCC activities of the college are coordinated by Capt. Rajesh N., Associate Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
