The Department of Management Studies, NMIT, holds several events through the year. Faculty and students also attend events outside the campus. These events make the program a synergistic combination of theory and practice. The exposure at the events enable the students develop diversified thinking and brings them close to business. Some of the featured events we have are Business and Information Sessions, Guest Talks, FDPs, EDPs, MDPs, CDPs, National and International Conferences, Industry Visits, Know-How Sessions, Alumni Meets, Industry-Institutions Summits.
WON OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP - National Level Management Fest – SIT, Tumkur
The Department of Management Studies, NMIT wishes to share a JOYFUL MOMENT. Our team of MBA students, represented NMIT, at Ashwamedha 2018- A National Level Management Fest, held in PGDMS&RC, Siddaganga Institute of Technology, in April, 2018 has emerged as the OVERALL CHAMPIONS.
These prizes and championship recognize the excellence of our students across the spectrum of business and management and definitely places Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology as a place for building Winners and Champions.
A Career Guidance Program was organized by the Department of Management Studies, NMIT for the final year B.Com. Students of Dr. NSAM First Grade College, Bengaluru in February, 2017.
The sessions were handled by Dr.Janakiraman and Dr.S. Harish Babu touching the various parameters of diversified career options and higher studies like MBA and others.
Later, experts from CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) addressed the students on making Management Accounting as a career option and become certified CGMA(Chartered Global Management Accountants).
Mr. Santosh Chandrasekhar, Vice-president of Indian Institute of E-commerce, addressed our students in March, 2017. An alumnus of Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, he is currently associated with Startup India, an initiative of Government of India.
He keenly interacted with students on careers in E-commerce platform. Along with this, he gave a 10 day certification course on E-commerce free of cost as a gesture of stimulating student's interest on the same.
"Youth Happiness Program" was conducted by Art of Living, exclusively for Management students of NMIT in May, 2017.
The program was for a period of 4 days. Students were taught Sudarshan Kriya, Bhastrika pranayama, management of stress and exam fear. On the 4th day, they were also taken to Art of Living International Centre in Kanakapura.
Inauguration of 14th batch of MBA program was conducted in October, 2017. The event was graced by Prof.Ranganatha Setty, Dean-Academic, Dr.S.Harish Babu, HoD and Dr.B.Janakiraman, Professor as dignitaries.Dr.Jacob Crasta, well-known serial entrepreneur and economic analyst was invited as the Chief Guest. The event was received very well by the audience.
The Department of Management Studies.NMIT organized a session of mock interview for 2nd year students in October, 2017. Our placement coordinators, Dr.Malini.T.N and Ms.Jyothi Ravindra along with external expertise provided our students an opportunity to test out their interview skills during this session.
The Department of Management Studies, NMIT organized a one day workshop on Case Analysis in October, 2017. The program saw more than 100 students from MBA/PGDM/BBA/B.Com and faculty members from various management colleges and B Schools in attendance.
The program covered various dimensions of case study like advantages and limitations, six step model of case analysis and mock analysis and presentation. Dr.B.Jankirama, Professor, DoMS, NMIT was the resource person for the program.
Adhiveshana – State level Inter –Collegiate Management Fest 2017, under the umbrella of Anaadyanta 2017 was organized with much with much pride and pompous in March, 2017. The flagship event of the department of management studies saw the participation of more than 78 teams and was a resounding success.

ANAADYANTA Management Fest 2019, a flagship event organized by Dept. Of Management studies NMIT had a cavalcade of managerial contests witnessing more than 120 teams participating across the state. Organized on the theme Mahabharata, the event had a great participation making a firm success.Brigadier YoginderParimu , Retired Army officer was the chief guest of the event.
