Brief Report on Extensive Survey Camp-2016-17 Department of Civil Engineering successfully conducted a Ten Days Extensive Survey Camp 2017 for the students of 3rd year Civil Engineering as a part of curriculum of the 6th semester. This camp was aimed at exposing Civil Engineering Students to the practical application of Surveying for various projects so as to equip them with essential knowledge for Project Planning. The camping was at a place very close to the natural terrain, staying with minimum facility, working in group was one of the key objectives to simulate the field conditions a civil Engineer has to face during his professional life. The students got a chance to develop various project managerial skills, leadership quality, team work as a part of the study during the Survey Camp. Survey work during day time and converting the data in to Civil engineering Drawings every evening make them work around the clock, conveying the hardship of the profession.
The students and the Department are thankful to the Management for the kind support in conducting this camp smoothly every year. The best part of the project is that Principal Dr.H C Nagaraj, visited the camp to know the welfare of students during the stay. He made the students to celebrate New Year 2017 on the evening of last day of 2016, distributing the sweets and snacks. |
