The Department offers a 4-year Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) program in Aeronautical Engineering, with an authorized intake of 120 from the academic year 2020-21. In addition to this, lateral Scheme of admission for Diploma students are also available for admission into B.E. Aeronautical Engineering and all instructions are available in the website www.vtu.ac.in or direct contact with the admission Department of the Institution.The program is autonomous and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU).
The Department is advised by committees like the Board of Studies (BOS), Board of Examiners (BOE), Departmental Under Graduate Committee (DUGC) and other advisory (internal and external)source to coordinate for addition/deletion/modification of the Undergraduate Program.
Well trained faculties with various specializations in Aerospace Engineering are inducted to smoothconduct of the Undergraduate Program. Special precautions are taken during the selection of faculty members.
Both Scheme and syllabusare designed by the expert membersof BOS committee following the reputed National and International Universities/Institutions and are also modified as per the committee suggestions.
The Aeronautics Department is a new department and will offer PhD programs in future.
The Department of Aeronautical Engineering is a VTU recognised “Research Centre with effect from September 2020.
There are 08 Doctorates in the department to guide as Research Supervisors. /p>
The wide variety of disciplines at NMIT provides a unique environment that fosters both core and interdisciplinary research in diverse areas of emerging technology such as aerospace, nanotechnology, materials, and computational sciences. It has 11 Research Centre with 7 Centres of Excellence (CoE). The Institute provides facilities for research leading to the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) under Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgavi, Karnataka.
