The students of 3rd year Aeronautical Engineering, Mr. SainiJitendra Kumar Purnmal, Mr. MdMazook, Ms. Gouthami T S, Mr. B M shreyasand Mr. Hanith K M students, have participated and won Third Prize in “World Robotic Championship” in 5th International Robotics League conducted by Times of India at Thyagaraj Stadium from 23/9/2019 to 25/9/2019 under the guidance of Mr. SantoshHosur, Department of Aeronautical Engineering.
The students of 4th year Aeronautical Engineering, Mr. Rajathshetty, Mr. PavanKalyan V, Mr. MadhuPujar and Mr. PeddireddyOmkar Reddy students, participated and won the “Best project of the year” under the guidance of Mr. Vinod L, Department of Aeronautical Engineering. Their project “Design and Fabrication of Fixed Wing UAV Operating in Air and Under Water Environment” was entered in the 42nd student project program (SPP) conducted by the Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology at Dr. MS Sheshagiri College of Engineering and Technology, Belagavi on 26 & 27 Jul 2019.

Department of Aeronautical Engineering is happy to announce that, two of its students have been awarded as the best outgoing students in the following sections.
Ms. S Spurthy is awarded by NitteGulabiShetty Memorial Gold Medal for securing the highest CGPA of 9.74 in her Bachelor’s Degree during 9th Graduation ceremony held on 10 August 2019 at NMIT.
Mr. ChinthanDsouza of batch 2015-19 was awarded with the Justice. K S Hegde Memorial gold medal for his outstanding achievements during his bachelor’s degree.

The 8th semester students of Department of Aeronautical Engineering, NMIT have won 1st Prize in Project Exhibition cum Competition - 2018, held at VTU, Belagavi, on 28 June 2018.The team stood FIRST among 123 participating colleges all of which are, affiliated to VTU, Belagavi.

Glider competition in “Aerophilia” a two day National Level Aeromodelling competition
oraganized by ‘Team Challengers’ of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management,
Mangaluru and supported by Aerotrix India.
Students of VII semester Aeronautical Engineering won the second prize at the all-India Jesco von Puttkamer Cup India 2017 held at Amity University, Noida, India on Oct 12 2017.
Competition pertains to the design of a human exploration rover that will race on harsh terrains and will be powered by humans with no other means of energy or energy storage devices. The team members are:

Santhosh N, Assistant Professor in the Department of Aeronautical Engineering has been presented Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Metal Casting and Foundry Metallurgy.
Harish H V, Assistant Professor in the Department of Aeronautical Engineering has successfully developed a facility for thermal flow analysis over an aerofoil under TEQIP – II.
