Thin films, Photovoltaics and Nano materials

Research work taken up by the Department:

  • Metal oxide (MO) semiconductors for photovoltaic applications.
  • Growth of 2D materials like MoSe2 and WSe2 for microelectronic and optoelectronic applications
  • Microwave synthesis of ferroelectric nanostructures.

Infrastructure/Facilities

The area of thin films is important for fundamental research and for industrial applications. In this field, thin films deposition techniques can be classified as physical vapor deposition (PVD) and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) techniques.
