The above project of Dr. M. S. Raghu, Asst. Professor, Department of Chemistry, has been selected by Government of Karnataka, Vision Group on Science and Technology (under the category SEED MONEY TO YOUNG SCIENTISTS FOR RESEARCH) for the financial year 2015-16.
Dr. M S Raghu, Asst Prof, Chemistry department, NMIT, has received a project under Seed Money for SMYSR scheme 2016, from VGST, Govt of Karnataka.
The Chemistry department does research in the following areas.
Composite of Polysulfone, polyamide with nano particles for Reverse Osmosis (RO) applications
The manufacture of paper from grass (Desmostachya Bipinnata) of Malnad region. This involves processes such as extraction, pulping and bleaching.
Synthesis of benzamides, pseudo peptides and their metal oxides for anti-microbial, DNA, binding and cleavage studies
It involves development of method for the analysis of anti-allergic drugs in tablets, syrups with comparison to pure forms.
