  NSS  
  National Service Scheme (NSS) was established to encourage social service among students in India. The driving force behind this Scheme was to motivate students to serve society creatively and constructively through their education. The NSS works towards arousing social consciousness among students and providing them with opportunities to realize the same.

The NSS Unit at NMIT upholds this tradition and continues its efforts towards making NSS a part of everyday student life. It has been noted that through NSS, students can hone their own personalities by serving the community and society.

Not Me But You’ is the motto of NSS. Members of NMIT NSS unit realize the essence of selfless service and the need to be considerate towards others. The NSS believes that the welfare of an individual is dependent on the welfare of the society. Deeply reflecting the values of NMIT, the NSS unit at the college comprises of over 100 volunteers who dedicate their effort and time towards social and environmental causes.

From cancer and AIDS awareness to road repair works and health camp for the poor, the NSS unit at NMIT is proactive and undertakes several projects. The unit ensures that its students receive the opportunity for self growth and an enriching experience through community service.
