The Department of Mechanical Engineering started in the year 2002 with an intake of 60 students. The intake was increased to 120 for the academic year 2009-10 and further increased to 180 during the academic year 2012-13.

A Three Day National Workshop on “REALISTIC APPROACH TO WEAR MEASUREMENTS AND MECHANISMS (RATWMAM 2016)” was organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with Ducom Instrument Pvt.Ltd, Bangalore at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bangalore supported by Technical Education Quality Improvement Program-II. Eminent speakers from IISc, NIT Warangal, Kennametal, CMTI, NAL and UVCE delivered the Technical Talk. September 2016
Prof  Majumdar delivered a talk at the NAFEMS International Conference to be held at Bangalore (NIMHANS Convention Centre) on August 29-31, 2016.  The subject of the talk was “MODELING AND SIMULATION OF TRANSITIONAL AND TURBULENT FLOWS IN COMPLEX CONFIGURATION”. August 2016

Three Day National Workshop on “REALISTIC APPROACH TO WEAR MEASUREMENTS AND MECHANISMS (RATWMAM 2016)” organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with Ducom Instrument Pvt.Ltd, Bangalore at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology supported by Technical Education Quality Improvement Program-II. The workshop is scheduled from 19th September to 21st September 2016. Eminent speakers from IISc, NIT Warangal, Kennametal, CMTI, NAL and UVCE will deliver the Technical Talk. Faculties, Research Scholars, Government officials and interesting students are eligible to take part in the workshop.
