Activities for the Year 2015-16
  • Weapon Training classes with Self Loading Rifle SLR 7.62mm, August 2016 and September 2016.
  • Institutional training, which includes drill, weapon training, personality development and, signals have been imparted to all the cadets.
  • Organised Blood Donation Camps in association with NSS and Rotaract club.
  • Celebration of Independence day and Republic Day in the College.

RASTRIYA YUVA SAPTAHA
National Youth Day is celebrated on 12th January every year to commemorate the birthday of Swami Vivekananda, maker of the modern India. Yuva Diwas in Bengalore city was celebrated with great joy for full week starting from 12th January till 19th January in Kanteerava stadium.

12 Cadets from NMIT were a part of the team who have participated in the event by actively taking part in organizing exhibition and elucidated the people about the role of NCC and its importance in Nation building. Our Cadets were also given task to organize a stall on NCC organizational structure.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP
A blood donation camp was organised by the NCC cadets on 15 January 2016. 310 units of the blood was collected by two blood banks.

TREKKING EXPEDITION (BRAHMAGIRI WILDLIFE SANCTURAY)
As a part of NCC adventure activity, a group of 50 cadets organised a trek to Brahmagiri Hills, Coorg from 22nd January 2016 to 24th January 2016. The obstacles and problems faced by the cadets on the trek not only emboldened them but also added to their enjoyment.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION – 2016
NMIT celebrated Republic day and the chief guest was Lt Gen C.R Sampat Kumar, he hoisted the flag and delivered enthralling speech to the audience.

MY COUNTRY RUN
MY COUNTRY RUN organized by the JGI Group which saw thousands of runners stream through the picturesque Cubbon Park as they compete 10k (elite), 10k (cool run), 5k (cool run) events on January 31.
Our NCC cadets participated in all categories and all our cadets finished the run.
The achievement of our cadets is as follows:-
CPL. Aman kumar got 22nd position in 10k(elite)
CPL. Arun Kumar got 36th position in 10k(elite)
JUO. Md.Raja got 40th position in 10k(elite)

CERTIFICATE EXAMINATIONS
The cadets from NMIT were eligible for c certificate and b certificate examination.
Nineteen 3rd year cadets appeared for the ‘C’ Certificate Examination held on 27th February 2016 and Twenty- Nine 2nd year cadets appeared for the ‘B’ Certificate Examination held on 20th February 2016 and all of these cadets passed with Good gradings.

SPORTS EVENTS

ROAD SAFTY AND FIRST RESPODERS AWARENESS CAMPEGIN
The Cadets of NMIT organised a Road Safety and First Responders Awareness Program held on 12th March 2016 in Yelahanka Old Town, Bangalore. The program was flagged off by Lt.Col.S.B.Chhetri near the NES Bus Stand. The cadets carried placards and formed a rally that traversed the lanes and road of Yelahanka creating awareness among the commuters and residents. A street play was performed by a group of cadets at four prominent locations, which attracted media attention. The program was later broadcasted in Door Darshan and Silicon City Channels.

NCC CADETS’ DAY
The activities of NCC for the Academic Year 2015 – 2016 was culminated with a valedictory function held on 2nd April 2016. The function was graced by Prof. N.R. Shetty, Advisor and Dr. H. C. Nagaraj, Principal, NMIT, who distributed the prizes for the winners across various sports events and also awarded the Best Outgoing Cadet. The deserving cadets of the first year and second year were awarded various ranks during the ceremony.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA - 2016
To mark and celebrate the 2nd International Day of Yoga this year, National Cadet Corps(NCC) unit of Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bangalore has organised a week long yoga Training/practice sessions during June 15 – 21, 2016. Which was conducted by The Art of Living Foundation under their Yogdhaan Scheme. Volunteer from The Art of Living Foundation Ms. S Shylaja made an arrangement for yoga trainers, Ms. Komala S and Ms. Apurva P who have trained the participants on yoga.

INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICT TRAFFICKING- 2016
NCC cadets from Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bangalore have launched an awareness program about International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in the college campus and in social media on 26th June 2016. NCC cadets have designed the posters and displayed in different parts of the college. Also the posters are circulated through social medias like facebook, WhatsApp etc.

CLEANLINESS DRIVE
NCC coy of Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology has adopted Gantiganahalli village in Yelahanka for cleanliness drive under Swachh Bharath Abhiyaan Scheme. On 13 August 2016, Dr. H.C Nagaraj, Principal of Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology inaugurated the campaign and addressed the NCC cadets and villagers gathered. He mentioned Gandhiji’s emphasis on need to educate villagers on good hygiene and sanitation. 80 NCC cadets along with 40 villagers took part in cleaning of surrounding areas and launched awareness campaign on highlighting cleanliness drive. Major thrust areas focused are Wastage management, Usage of toilets, stopping open defecation and urination.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
College celebrated Independence Day in the college and Dr. RLM Patil was the chief guest. NCC cadets along with other students participated in the cultural programs.

GRADUATION DAY
The Graduation day of Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology took place on 18th August 2016, where the NCC Cadets gave the guard of honour to the honourable Chancellor and the chief guest.

ACHIEVEMENTS
CPL. Aman Kumar Ranjan has been selected as Best Cadet from Karnataka and Goa Directorate NCC.

COMMENDATION FOR ANO : The Associate NCC Officer for NMIT, Capt. Rajesh N received commendation from the Deputy Director General NCC, Kar & Goa during Republic Day 2016 for his proficient services towards the NCC family.
