M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering

The M. Tech Program in the department of Computer Science at the Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology started during the Academic year 2008.    Students enrolled in this program has increased by 50% from 17 to 25 in the last few years

The objectives for the M Tech Program are to :

  • Initiate R&D in the various topics related to Computer Science and Engineering
  • Initiate Multidisciplinary Research at NMIT
  • Work on research projects sponsored by the government and other esteemed organizations in the country.

The department has highly qualified and competent faculty members who are experts in ther respective subjects.  All faculty members are involved in research.

The department boasts of state-of-the-art facilities for research. The laboratories include a state-of-the-art R&D laboratory, a Centre of Robotics Research and an Image & Video Processing Research Laboratory.  The laboratories are open 24x7 to facilitate research.

Students are motivated and encouraged to take up internships in prestigious institutes and companies.  Workshops and seminars are organized by the department.  Domain experts from various industries and colleges across the country interact with the students and faculty.  These workshops help the faculty and students keep themselves updated with technology, trends and challenges in the work place.

The department has several research projects funded by the external organizations such as the Department of Science and Technology, CVRDE (Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment), DRDO (Defense Research and Development Organization), CAIR (Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics), Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Center, Vision Group on Science and Technology and Visvesvarya Technological University.
