Established in the year 2009, the Department of Civil Engineering offers a 4 yr under graduate program with a sanctioned intake of 60 students from the academic year 2009 -10. The program is recognised by the AICTE and is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University.

The focus of the department is to offer quality education in specialised fields of Civil Engineering as per the course curriculum of the VTU. The Institute has become an autonomous institution from the academic year 2007-08 and accordingly, the department is in the process of restructuring its curriculum in consonance with the needs of modern day professional environment by including courses on newer and emerging concepts in Civil Engineering, components of hands-on training including professional training in various activities related to skill development, with a view to enhance the professional employability levels of its students.
