B.E.-Aeronautical Engineering

The department offers a 4-Year Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) program in Aeronautical Engineering, with an authorized intake of 60 students per annum. In addition, a few diploma students are also admitted to the department through lateral entry. The program is autonomous and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU).

The department has several advisory committees such as the Board of Studies (BOS), Board of Examiners (BOE), Departmental Under Graduate Committee (DUGC), and other advisory bodies to coordinate the activities of the department.

SCHEME AND SYLLABUS

The BOS formulates the scheme and syllabus for the B.E. program. The syllabus for the 3rd and 4th Semesters was recently upgraded based on the expert advice of distinguished members from NAL, HAL, Honeywell, IISc, IIT Madras and IIT Kharagpur.

INNOVATIVE TEACHING AND LEARNING

The department uses several innovative measures in the teaching and the learning processes:

  • The syllabus is periodically revised to stay aligned with the latest developments in the aeronautical industry.
  • The learning for students is enhanced through industrial internships, course projects, interaction with experts from the industry, assignments and seminars.
  • The performance of students, both in curricular and extra-curricular activities, is evaluated using the Rubrics formulated by NMIT.
